ok here is the problem, i have a sixteen year old son that loves to play online poker. I have tried many ways to block the poker sites but somehow he still gets through them. i am sick of downloading parental blockers, so my friend told me there was a way in which u could specify a word such as "poker" and block it from web access, like if he typed in the word poker, the internet would automatically not display wat he was looking for. If anyone knows how to do this i would be so thankful. please please help. i am worried about him.

Poker sites are all around the world and he can do something like go to a Japanes poker site can you find free slots that i can play. I would just try talking to him or taking away his computer or other privileges.your son is soo hard core playing poker jesus christ , i meanif he is not doing drugs or looking at child porn or sending viruses why the hell are you breaking his balls for poker you are a whacked parent and dont even deserve to use a computer.or you could get rid of the internet for a while and get him some counselling can you find free slots that i can play where can i find free slots that have bonuses. do what it takes. if you need internet access for yourself then go to the library or something. you must get him away for a while so he can get some space and think about it.

It can restrict sites, computer time, internet time, program time, and all these other things. You can also try putting a password on the actual computer account. But like a few ppl said, yea ur son's not a bad kid but he should probably see somebody. I know I had to when my anger got out of hand.....in my opinion this is similar to my situation.

You shouldnt let him get into a habit of being in front of a screen all day thats unhealthy. I dont think there is anything wrong with playing poker specifically, especially if its just an online game- its not like he's gambling hes just learning. I'd worry more about if the reason he wants to learn is so he can play with all his boys and lose real money.Does he have other hobbies?Does he have a job?Is he thinking about his future?I mean who knows he could be a famous poker player one day- I just think though that sitting at the computer is a bad way to live so I'd worry more about that.

Make him aware of this and then send him to gamblers anonymous, against his willl he has no priviledges until he moves out of your home. Your home your rules and the laws of the City, County, State, and Country he lives in determine the things he can legally do. I would ask a local law enforcent officer about the local law to see what the law about this is in your area.

I tried a lot of poker sites and it blocked them all so you might give it a go.Hope this helps. This is easier then trying to block every known poker/gambling site...(monumental comes to mind)---Use protection, your computer will thank you.

- No your son isn't bad, it's trhe behaviour.
- Why not call Gambling Anonymous?
- But ask him if he wants help from gambling first, or he'll resent you trying to help. Why don't you take the computer out of your house or out of his room at least.
- Removing the addiction now is what he needs.
- Get a laptop that you can use if that what it takes.
- Just do it for a month.
- You can get ahold of www.reformersu.com If he does it again remove it for two months.
